The press reaction to Mark Zuckerberg’s Court on solitude and Facebook has mostly fallen into two camps: doubt and open mockery.
Even Zuckerberg himself confessed how hard it’s in small numbers and to believe that Facebook cares about creating a space where consumers can communicate privately.
I meanwe killed democracy, gave a stage to Nazis, sold your data to the maximum bidder so… rather hard to believe a single word we say, right?
Mockery of this notion that, as TechCrunch put it, Zuckerberg has suddenly “discovered privacy. ”
“I understand that a lot of people don’t believe Facebook can or would even want to create this type of privacy-focused platform — because honestly we don’t currently have a solid reputation for constructing privacy protective solutions…”
