Nowadays, an increasing number of big budget titles are turning into what’s called”games-as-a-service,” extending their lifespans and introducing new content on a regular basis in order to keep players enticed for more than just its first week. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot thinks it is about far more than dollar signs while games-as-a-service’s growth hasn’t always been a favourite fad among gambling audiences.

“Since we put a lot of time and effort into producing universes, cities, and worlds, what we attempt to do is give chances to stay there for quite a while, with lots of different gameplay along with also the option to be with your friends,” Guillemot said on this month’s episode of IGN Unfiltered. “Why do you want to redo everything each year if you’re able to enhance and increase the experience in one game? It’s easier for us to enhance and increase the number of chances that the match can bring instead of starting from scratch.”
