Even though the future is apparent, the hurdles are.   Generalization, robustness, processing power and cost are tradeoffs hardware products that are future will have to balance.   Contrary to the scalable and in-built cloud along with other services software likes, each hardware product will have onboard processing, sensorstechnology, and other requirements that make their way.   Sure that a GPU can be thrown into the BOM, but can the price be accepted by the marketplace?   High performance computing at the edge remains in its nascent stages so processing of other information and pictures could be costly also.
Hardware’s beauty empowered AI/ML is that it not only crosses the border between the physical and virtual, but also between digital and analog.   It’s particularly valuable when interacting with the world and dealing with its data that is cluttered.   The next generation of AI hardware startups will take all that messy analog information and change it into executable and productive knowledge that offer experiences all the way.

Innovation is a Creature.   It takes lots of cash, money.   It takes time, a fantastic team, and execution in over twenty separate domain names, many of which tend to be overlooked until it is too late (certifications anyone?!) .   However, I have got some fantastic news. Since the ecosystem of data, computation, connection, and devices evolve, the platforms, tools and systems are obviously finding synergy and Reducing the barriers of integration.    The line between What’s a hardware or software product will continue to blur.   The detector technologies leading the way are microphones and cameras. If there is a camera, there is a chance together with cars being the most prominent example, there’s an AI stack behind it.    On the microphone/speaker side, Google Home the Smart Home urges Amazon Echo, and many others are obvious and omnipresent.
