A while back I wrote about that the Alexa Prize, a college contest in which participating teams are producing socialbots focused on advancing personal computer to human interaction. We’re now in year two, heading into the last stretch for 2018 and I thought I would give an update to everyone.
For those who aren't comfortable, Alexa Prize teams use customer feedback to advance several regions of conversational AI, together with the grand challenge being a socialbotthat could engage coherently for 20 minutes in an enjoyable, high-quality conversation on popular topics such as entertainment, sports, technology, and fashion. Teams are thinking big about to make strides in regions such as knowledge acquisition, natural language understanding and generation, context modeling, common sense reasoning, and preparation.
To be a part of this dialog, just say”Alexa allow 's chat” on almost any Alexa-enabled apparatus and begin your own Alexa Prize journey. Customers have logged thousands of hours of dialog with the eight socialbots currently available.
In mid-August the 2 teams with the highest customer evaluations will advance to the finals round. Amazon will selects at least the team based on interestingness, coherence, their s relevance, speed, and scientific merit. While a mixture of innovation, passion, and imagination fuels teams, customer participation is key for them to reach their goals. Your interactions and feedback will be crucial to helping teams continue to improve their socialbots into the finals round.
You will then be prompted to provide a verbal rating and feedback. You can easily try numerous socialbots by simply stating”Alexa, let's chat” again.
