Some time back I wrote about that the Alexa Prize, a university contest in which participating teams are producing socialbots focused on progressing computer to individual interaction. We’re now in year two, going into the final stretch for 2018 and I thought I would give an update to everyone.

Teams are thinking big about how to make strides in regions such as conversation planning, natural language understanding and generation, context modeling, common sense reasoning, and knowledge acquisition.

In mid-August that the two teams with the highest customer evaluations will automatically advance to the finals round. At least one other team will be selected by Amazon based on coherence their socialbot relevance, interestingness, rate, and scientific merit. Even though a mixture of innovation, innovation, and imagination fuels teams, customer engagement is crucial for them to achieve their goals. Your interactions and opinions will be critical to helping teams continue to improve their socialbots into the finals round.
