A while back I wrote about the Alexa Prize, a university competition where engaging teams are creating socialbots focused on advancing computer to individual interaction. We are currently in year two, heading into the final stretch for 2018 and I thought I would give everyone an update.

In mid-August the 2 teams with the highest customer ratings will advance to the finals round. At least the other team is going to be selected by Amazon according to interestingness, coherence, their s relevance, speed, and merit. While a mixture of innovation, innovation, and imagination fuels groups, customer engagement is crucial for them to achieve their goals. Your interactions and feedback will be crucial to helping teams continue to improve their socialbots into the finals round.
