An excerpt in Kuo’s research note, acquired by MacRumors:

We feel that mini LED, compared to OLED, will probably be much more convenient solution to offer wide-color gamut (WCG)/high-contrast/high dynamic range (HDR)/local dimming features because of its longer lifetime and no burn-in problems for Apple’s medium- and – large-size products targeting in productivity rankings.
We predict that Apple will respectively launch an all-new design 31.6-inch screen, a 10–12 inch iPad plus a 15–17 inch MacBook outfitted with a miniature LED backlight unit (BLU) in two –3Q19, 4Q20–1Q21 and 1–2Q21.

Kuo believes that the 31.6-inch screen”will aim an extremely high-end position” and attribute an”all-new design.”

Apple’s discontinued Thunderbolt Display

Apple plans to establish a trio of fresh goods with Mini-LED backlights over the subsequent two decades, such as a 31.6″ screen in the next or third quarter of 2019, a 10-12″ iPad in overdue 2020 or premature 2021, and a 15-17″ MacBook in the first half 2021, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a previous study note, Kuo predicted that Apple would establish both a 31.6-inch screen along with a 16-16.5″ MacBook Pro in 2019, so it is not completely clear if the 15-17″ MacBook identifies a separate notebook or if Kuo now considers the 16-16.5″ MacBook Pro is coming a couple of years later than he initially anticipated.
