In a new study published in Nature, researchers say that 390 billion metric tons of ice and snow out of glaciers are melting globally every year. Throughout the past half century, melting from glaciers have caused the planet’s oceans to grow one inch. The warming oceans have expanded, amounting to 9 inches, normally, in sea level rise.
