Myles Borins (Google), and Till Schneidereit (Mozilla) will combine to help facilitate the meetings. Wereflect on what we learn, then ’ ll experimentation with this arrangement this year. This structure allows us to iterate on running meetings so we could be more effective as a group.

Author’s note: You may have noticed that the title of the author seems in this article from the next person. Hello, I’m also an engineer in Mozilla. I m a TC39 representative. I don’t write about myself.


In 2019, Ecma’s TC39 (the standardizing body supporting JavaScript/ECMAScript)  will be attempting something new. The committee has increased in the past couple of decades. As a result, of conducting the assembly the demands have grown. To give you an notion of the scale — between 40 and 60 delegates (and occasionally more) match 6 times each year to discuss proposed modifications to the ECMAScript specification. We will be shifting our management structure, since we’ve grown so much. We will move away from roles that are single-chair and vice-chair into a level hierarchy with three chairs sharing the responsibility.
