That sliding keyboard also comes at a big cost, however — that the Helios 700 is an absolutely huge gaming PC, measuring in at 1.64 inches thick (41.7mm) and weighing 9.9 lbs. For comparison, the smaller Helios 300 is currently a fairly chunky PC, and that measuring in at 22.9mm (for its 15-inch model). There’s no way around it this is a computer that is massive.
The Helios 700 has been charged as the new flagship of the Helios line for Acer, with a 17.3-inch 1080p screen, an 9th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, and ether Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080 or RTX 2070 GPUs (specifically said to not be a Max-Q design). The Helios 700 may also be configured with up to 64 GB of RAM and up to some 1TB SSD or 2TB disk.

In a short hands on with the Helios 700, the sliding keyboard is a neat trick — a fantastic compromise between those who enjoy keyboard in their normal place at the back of the bottom of the computer, and people who like the front-loaded style that Acer has been pushing on many of its gaming notebooks. Plus, a lot is helped by how the laptop supplies a built-in palm rest with all the relaxation issues of utilizing a front positioning keyboard.


The keyboard is the star of this series here. Acer calls it the”HyperDrift computer keyboard,” and it is not just a cosmetic change, possibly: slipping forward exposes fans underneath that enhance cooling and performance. The keys are a new type of”MagForce keys” with linear buttons, which Acer states are more precise than traditional versions.
Together with this Helios 700, Acer declared improved specs for an optional 144Hz display the existing Helios 300 model, which will get the 9th Gen Core processors of Intel, and RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU. Like the Helios 700, no cost or launch date has yet been announced.

Acer has announced its latest gaming notebook, the Predator Helios 700. It looks like a bigger version of the Predator Helios 300 version, using an updated design of the company. Trackpad and the keyboard really slide forwards toward the user, and the trackpad tilts down to make a palm rest.
